humans evolved different levels of skin pigmentation to protect against different types of UV conditions depending on where they lived. some humans evolved to have different amounts of fat in their eyelids to protect against cold weather. humans are 99% identical and we are still able to make sure a big deal out of that different 1%. just amazing. it's almost as if Gulliver's Travels was more of a documentary than a satire.
